For the third time, the tattoo party this time emphasizes the traditional Borneo tattoo beauty contest, which the Borneo tattoo category beauty contest has never been held anywhere in the world. Apart from the traditional beauty tattoo competition (a tattoo process that does not use modern tattoo machines), this festival also holds a tattoo competition that uses machines but has “Borneo” elements. This will foster the interest and creativity of tattoo artists not only in tattoo patterns but in carving patterns on walls, house pillars, shapes, and others. In addition to that, the Miri Traditional Carving Art Association also held a traditional dress beauty contest for men and women with the aim of making the contestants wear their traditional clothes and love the culture of their respective tribes.

The main purpose of this festival is that the young people and the community present love their respective traditions and do not boast of foreign cultures in a world as sophisticated as this. Apart from that, this festival is held to foster the community’s interest in the customs that exist in Borneo. In terms of cleanliness as well, the tattoo artists will show a safe way during the tattoo-making process so that there is no infection of the tattoo that is cut. Apart from that, with a tattoo party like this, society will not judge tattoos as a crime, but tattoos are a Dayak cultural art for generations.
